Who We Are

Established in 1924, Congregation B’nai Israel has been creating community in Gainesville for over 85 years.

We are a community-based, volunteer-driven organization that is committed to celebrating joyful Jewish living in North Central Florida.

Our diverse and progressive congregation aims to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere where authentic Judaism may be practiced and where innovation, creativity and originality are encouraged.

We strive to enrich our community through education, opportunities for prayer and spiritual growth and acts of loving-kindness.

Community Highlights

Google's Director of Technology to Speak at B'nai Israel

Join us on Sunday, July 25 at 2 p.m. for a program with Craig Silverstein, who was Google's first employee and continues to serve as Google's Director of Technology. Craig will speak about the development of search capabilities at Google and what the future holds for search engines.

Junque to Jewels Rummage Sale

Junque to Jewels has come and gone, and we'd like to thank the devoted members of our congregation for making this fundraiser a success! We couldn't have done it without the generous contributions from many of our members and the tireless efforts of our volunteer staff who sorted, priced and organized items.
