B'nai Israel CSA - Community Supported Agriculture

Minimize

Congregation B'nai Israel now offers a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture program) at the synagogue. Subscribers are invited to pick up a beautiful basket filled with fresh, locally grown produce every Thursday at Congregation B’nai Israel.

Each week will bring different vegetables, herbs and citrus, in addition to additional homemade treats, such as salad dressing, jam, sauerkraut, and pickles - all from Sandhill Family Farm in Micanopy, FL. Each week, subscribers will have the opportunity to collect their subscription and meet face-to-face with the farmers, learn about the different varieties we’ll be experiencing, and share cooking tips and recipes.

Several individuals and families have already made a commitment to this venture, and we still have room for others to join us. Baskets are $40 each (all payments are to Sandhill Family Farm), and may be ordered and collected on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Through scheduling you can control how much produce you receive and how much money you budget for your CSA produce. CSA participation does require a significant financial, temporal and culinary commitment. Many of our subscribers have found great value in enjoying beautiful, natural, pesticide-free, local, heirloom crops. Furthermore, many of our subscribers are excited about the opportunity to gather as a community each week to exchange recipes and appreciate gifts from the earth. Consider your interest in local food and culinary adventure and let us know if you might like to join the CSA.

We invite you to visit www.bnaigainesvillecsa.blogspot.com to learn more about the CSA experience.

Junque to Jewels Rummage Sale

Junque to Jewels has come and gone, and we'd like to thank the devoted members of our congregation for making this fundraiser a success! We couldn't have done it without the generous contributions from many of our members and the tireless efforts of our volunteer staff who sorted, priced and organized items.
